Today, the testing of new potential drugs is very much regulated. Ethical arguments, cost reduction and public opinion pressure, motivate scientists to optimize tests and further reduce the use of animals where ever possible.
LinoView™miniSPECT can be used as a first line screening method for experimental drugs. Should one decide to use LinoView™miniSPECT as a pre-selection tool for autoradiography by performing dynamic and kinetic pharmacologic studies, the number of animals used for a routine screening are expected to be reduced substantially. This of course could vary by institute. Moreover, inter- and intra-experimental variations can be reduced due to the fact that more information can be obtained from a single subject.
